Levittown Pa. a production suburbia of 17,400 homes was built in 1952-58 adjacent to Fallingston village. This extensive car based suburban sprawl outside Philadelphia surrounded traditional Bucks county villages. This followed the American car based model of town planning.

American Lean Urbanism advocates 5 minute neighbourhoods unlike European 15 minutes to encourage Americans out of cars. Transport rail stations at either side of area with major trains linking Philadelphia, Trenton, and New York City. Connecting cross and internal bus and light rail would complete the network. Residential densification and creation of multiple local walkable shopping villages and network of bike paths could decarbonise the suburbia.
